Tamika has recently been accepted as a student of well known opera singer and entrepreneur, Steve Ostrow an expatriate American now living in Sydney, Australia.
He spent most of his life in New York City both as an opera singer and as an entrepreneur. Steve has sung with major opera companies the world over and during his stay with the Stuttgart Opera in the 1980s, Steve also was contracted by Bob Hope and the USO to put on shows for NATO troops and their families stationed in Germany.
In the late 1960s, he opened the famous Continental Baths in the basement of the landmark 1903 Ansonia Hotel, New York City. Famous for its lavish accommodations, the Continental Baths was advertised as being reminiscent of “the glory of ancient Rome.” It was here he launched the careers of Bette Midler, Peter Allan, Barry Manilow, Patti La Belle, Melba Moore, Manhattan Transfer and countless other performers as well as single handedly re-establishing the Cabaret scene in NYC in the 70′s.
Tamika is fortunate enough to have her lessons with Steve in Studio 1 at the Actors Academy of Theatre and Television in Sydney.
